Digital Product #6: Templates
@ModestMikus on X is making $30,000 a month from a store that just sells templates.
Everyone is looking for a fast, cookie-cutter way to get things done. They want a plug-and-play system where they fill in the blanks and let it rip - or a template…
By templates, I mean a ready-made designs or formats that help people save time. Instead of starting from scratch, they can just fill in the blanks or customize it to fit their needs.
Typically these are cheap - anywhere from $5 to $30, making them an excellent way to attract customers and set the stage for upselling other, more expensive, products.
Etsy has a lot of people selling these templates:

Digital Product #5: Ebooks
Ebooks are an amazing digital product for beginners to launch.
Think you have to be the next Hemingway to write and sell your first ebook?
Think again.
Shawn made $25,000 selling his very first ebook, all about building a career as a software developer.
Ebooks are amazing first-time digital products because:
  1. They can help estabilish authority among your audience
  1. They can be used as your top-of-funnel offer so you can upsell people on more high-ticket products.
  1. It's easy to repurpose parts of the ebook for other projects. Example: giving away some chapters for free as a lead magnet (Alex Hormozi does this with his books).
  1. You can easily use AI to make ebooks.
Yes - it's true. You can write ebooks with the help of AI, and if you do it right, they're surprisingly good.
That's what Joe Popelas did when he was just 20.
He wrote an ebook with ChatGPT and made $200,000 with it:

Another way to write ebooks is through interviews, which a lot of ebook authors do. Here's an excerpt from a report courtesy of Trends:

Digital Product #4: Paid Communities
Paid communities are an excellent product to launch for these reasons:
  1. You get evergreen, recurring cashflows from your customers.
  1. This means you only need to acquire your customer once and cash in for months to come.
  1. If you do it right, your community can end up producing content and engagement all on its own.
That last point is important.
What separates a community from a fanbase is that members of the community actually engage with each other, not just with you.
When you can get this to happen, you can make A LOT of money.
Here's an example of what you can do with a community:
Trends Pro is a paid community where members get access to weekly reports relating to entrepreneurship and business building.
According to the blog Growth in Reverse, Trends has an estimated 1,500 paying members at $299/year - or $448,500/year. Not bad!
And Dru isn't alone. A lot of people are starting communities and making a lot of money with them:
Digital Product #3: Paid Newsletters
Imagine getting paid to share your expertise, insights, or even your hobbies through a simple email. That’s exactly what paid newsletters allow you to do.
Whether you’re a fitness coach, a financial expert, or just really good at spotting the latest trends, there’s an audience willing to pay for curated content delivered straight to their inbox.
Paid newsletters are awesome because:
  1. They usually have predictable revenue
  1. Great networking asset. Want to know someone in your industry? Grow a newsletter audience and offer a collab using your newsletter audience as leverage.
Here's an example of a paid newsletter (thanks to Growth in Reverse for the research!):
Heated is a newsletter all about climate change and environmentalism.

Digital Product #2: Paywalled Directories & Databases
People love shortcuts, and a directory or database gives them exactly that—a curated, organized collection of valuable information they’d rather not spend hours gathering themselves.
From freelance job boards to influencer contact lists or niche business directories, these resources save time and solve problems, making them highly sought after.
Here's some reasons why I really like paid databases:
  1. You can automate the population of your directories with AI, VAs, and web scrapers.
  1. Paid databases combo really well with other products - can be ascended into higher ticket offers.
  1. Tons of flavors (swipe files, case studies, leads, etc).
  1. Great M&A potential.
I actually bought a paywalled database on eBay and made MILLIONS of dollars with it!
And I'm not the only one making a lot of money with databases:
Digital Product #1: Online Courses
Last but not least… courses!
I have made MILLIONS of dollars selling and promoting online courses- and it's not just me:
So - why are courses so great?
  1. These are great bolt-on assets for people who already have businesses.
  1. You can make money finding creators or business owners and making courses for them if you don't have an audience.
  1. You don't have to be a subject matter expert to make a course - just find experts and interview them (I've done this)
  1. Excellent way to build rapport with your audience. Courses network for you while you sleep - imagine hundreds, or even thousands of people who have spent hours with you via your course.
  1. Make it once, sell it over and over again…
  1. They're versatile. You can sell high ticket programs for thousands of dollars, or low ticket programs that ascend people into your other offers.
  1. AI can help you make great courses in an afternoon.
